StumbleUpon is a cool service that allows you to “Channel Surf” webpages on the world wide web. Not only is this a great time killer, but you can actually find some pretty interesting stuff that you otherwise would never have found. With the click of a button, you can be taken to a random webpage from a niche within your interests.

The StumbleUpon toolbar installs into your web browser. When you click the Stumble button, you are instantly taken to a random webpage; however, its not as random as you think. StumbleUpon actually learns your interests so it can send you to pages that you may actually find interesting.

When we’re bored, we sit in front of the TV and click the “channel up” or “channel down” buttons on the remote control. StumbleUpon is the exact same concept, but the results are much more interactive. You can vote “thumbs up” for pages you like, and “thumbs down” for pages that don’t tickle your fancy. The service remembers these decisions to help deliver more relevant sites the next time you click the stumble button. Randomly, the service will also ask you questions about your interests; answering truthfully will help the StumbleUpon service cater interesting websites.
