E-Book is a short form for “Electronic Book” (I bet you can guess what the “E” stands for in E-Mail). E-Books come in a variety of file formats, but all share one common characteristic - there is no paper to be found in these books. E-Books are read on the computer, and are distributed via the internet. Some E-Books cost money - you must pay to download them. The authors make money on the books just the same as if it was bought from a store at the mall. Fortunately, other E-books are available FREE on the web. How cool is that?

One great source of free E-Books is Wikibooks. Here you will find an assortment of great reads that cover all sorts of topics. The interesting part is that the content of the books are user generated. In other words, anybody can participate in writing and editing E-Books to be hosted on the Wikibooks website. Its such a great community, because so many people can benefit from the information available.

Following upon the Non Techie theme, I would like to steer your attention to a great E-Book available called “Computers For Beginners.” Although you may not find it as easy to read as this blog, it has some solid content which you can refer to as necessary.
