Google Chrome
Google has recently launched its long awaited web browser - Google Chrome. The browser is lightweight, clean, robust, secure, and simple to use. Would we expect anything less from Google?
Today I took the new Google Chrome for a test drive, and things look solid. Installation was a breeze - all of my bookmarks and settings from Firefox were transferred over with no problems. The browser loads quick in typical Google fashion, and you are ready to browser the world wide web. The address bar doubles as the Google search bar. So, you can type in a URL, or simply just type in a description of what you are researching - the results will be displayed by the Google search engine. For example, if you are looking for a recipe for spaghetti, simply type in “spaghetti recipe”. The tabbed browsing experience is enhanced by creating a real separation between competing tabs. If one tab goes down, the idea is that you should not lose all of the pages being viewed. This is a great improvement over Firefox, in which one bad tabbed-apple can spoil the bunch. I will reserve my judgement until further review, but so far the new Google Chrome web browser looks like a hit!
