Save Your Favourite Websites For Easy Access Later

Everybody has those select favourite websites that they browse on a regular basis. Whether it be your email, your banking, or a fansite, these websites are unique to YOU. Nobody wants to type in the same old website address (URL) everytime they visit the page. So is there an easier way? Sure there is! Just use the webpage address saving feature that is built into your web browser.

A web browser is a special type of computer program which is designed to interpret and display information on the World Wide Web. The two most popular web browsers in existence today are:

1) Internet Explorer - By Microsoft
2) Firefox - By Mozilla

Aside from these two, there are many more fantastic web browsers available today. Chances are however, that you are using either one of the two listed above. It’s great to be able to have a choice at which web browser you use, as many are available free of charge on the World Wide Web. That being said, for most common purposes you only need 1 web browser.

Unfortunately I still see many people who are unfamiliar with the website address saving feature of their web browser. Lets see how we can save the address of our favourite web pages. Internet Explorer users have a feature called “favorites” which they can use to save their favourite websites. Similarly, Firefox has the exact same feature but calls it “bookmarks”. Here we can use the analogy of bookmarking the last page you read in a book. But instead of a page in a book, we are saving the address of our favourite webpages.

The procedure for saving the address of any particular website is as follows:

1) Browse to the website whose address you would like to save. You can do this by either typing in the address manually into the address bar of your web browser, or by clicking on a link to the website from a search engine such as Google. Once you have the website pulled up on your screen, proceed to step 2 (Thankfully this will be the last time you have to manually type in the website address. No more with the w… w…w… dot… bla… bla… bla… dot… com. Phew!)

2a) IF you use Internet Explorer:
i) Click “Favorites”
ii) Click “Add to Favorites…”

Add to Favorites Step 1

iii) A dialog box with the title “Add A Favorite” will appear. Click the “Add” button.

Add to Favorites Step 2

2b) IF you use Firefox:
i) Click”Bookmarks”
ii) Click “Bookmark This Page…”

Add to Bookmarks Step 1

iii) A dialog box with the title “Add Bookmark” will appear. Click the “OK” button.

Add to Bookmarks Step 2

Thats it, you’re finished! You’ve just saved a website into your favorites / bookmarks (Again, depending on which browser you use). Now in the future when you want to go back to that website, just click on “Favorites” (Internet Explorer users) or “Bookmarks” (Firefox users). The website will be in the list, which you can easily click and away you go!

Thumbs up!
