What is Malware?
Malware is software that is dangerously intrusive in nature and installed without the computer users’ consent. The word “malware” is a combination of the words “malicious” and “software.” There are many common terms that people use to describe computer “bugs” such as viruses, spyware, adware, trojans, and worms. These are technically different types of malicious software, yet all fall under the umbrella of malware. Malware can refer to any of the aforementioned computer “bugs,” and others too!
So, next time you are convinced you have a “bug” in your system, but are unsure what it is exactly… take the technically safe road when talking to your computer techie; call it malware. Perhaps your conversation together could start with the following:
“I have been infected with some kind of malware, but am unsure exactly what it is. That’s why I’m calling YOU! HELP!”
So keep your system safe on the internet. Never open suspicious emails; delete immediately. Only browse websites from trusted publishers. And last but not least, be careful what you download!
I’ve got to go and help a client get rid of some malware on their system. Catch you later!

Shit! I just hate that term but I count myself lucky to be in the environment where ‘Malware’ is not in existence. Oh I just love my iMac.

Hey Yan,
Although malware does exist in the Macintosh environment, it is rare. They are great computers despite the price. Even more impressive than the operating system is the hardware itself, sleek and stylish. Having a laptop that fits inside an envelope is cool! The desktop is quite unique as well. Hardly any wires which is a long standing problem of the classic PC.
See you around Yan!
